Member Annual Statements are distributed to NYSLRS members each spring. It’s important that you make sure your contact information is correct to ensure you receive your Statement, which you can access in Retirement Online or have mailed to you.
Note for retirees: Retiree Annual Statements were mailed at the end of February.
Use Retirement Online to Check and Update Your Contact Information
The fastest way to check your contact information, and update it if needed, is through Retirement Online. Sign in to your Retirement Online account, go to the ‘My Profile Information’ area of your Account Homepage and click “update” next to your mailing address or email address to make corrections. Use a personal email, not a work email address.

If you need assistance with Retirement Online, please call our Customer Service Representatives at 866-805-0990.
You can also update your contact information using our secure contact form. Be sure to complete all fields and provide your old and new contact information.
If your new mailing address is a PO Box, you must update your address in Retirement Online or complete and mail us a Change of Address Form (RS5512).
Your employer can’t update your NYSLRS contact information. So even if you updated it with your employer, you’ll need to update it with NYSLRS too.
Get Your Member Annual Statement Faster
You’ll receive your Member Annual Statement faster if you choose to receive it through Retirement Online. If you choose this option, you’ll receive an email that directs you to Retirement Online to see your Statement once it’s ready. To change your Statement delivery preference, go to the ‘My Profile Information’ area of your Retirement Online Account Homepage and click “update” next to ‘Member Annual Statement by.’
You can also receive other NYSLRS correspondence through Retirement Online by clicking “update” next to ‘Contact by.’ If you choose ‘Mail’ or don’t select a preference, you will receive letters by mail. Note: For security purposes, certain correspondence will only be sent by mail.
Please share this post with friends, family or coworkers who are NYSLRS members so they can also review their contact information.
Trying to get my info all the stupid questions an still have to call to get my statement what a F in joke !
Your message is important to us, and we have sent you a private message in response.
I’ve been trying to get on my account for weeks. Finally got contacted by a representative and had to answer questions from my past. Apparently I got an answer wrong because he said I didn’t pass. Now I have to wait until I get paperwork and send it back notarized. Then he spoke with my wife and all she gave was her registration number. No sign in or password. Do you know all the vehicles you’ve owned and the year they were made and the model? I’ve had numerous vehicles. I can’t even remember what I ate 2-3 days ago. You need to change your system. This is frustrating.

I agree, stupid questions. Try using what street did you grow up on. What elementary school did you attend. Mothers maiden name.
I cannot believe these comments. No wonder the average pension is $32K per year. These folks must have been in grade 10 through 16 state jobs (or perhaps grade 8 jobs).
Can you buy back time for working for the elections?
For questions about purchasing service credit, please email our customer service representatives using our secure email form.
So, I believe what I was told (some time ago) regarding working elections (and also teaching EMS for a County), was since it is in addition to being credited a full-time year working for the state no additional credit will be credited.
Which, honestly, does not strike me as reasonable to not receive credit for this. These are not overtime with a state employer, they are additional public service employment.
That’s not a job. It’s per diem employment. Unless you were on a Board of Elections payroll as an employee.
“… please call our Customer Service Representatives at 866-805-0990”
So, it is essentially impossible to get anyone by calling, and it isn’t unusual for the phone system to say ‘good-bye’ and hang up on you, without an option to leave a message or request a call back.
And filling out the contact form results in a minimum of Two Weeks for a response, if you’re lucky enough to get one at all, which is then haphazard as to whether it even addresses whatever you needed or is effective.
Truly sad, sad days as to where NYSLRS seems to have gotten to ….
We’re sorry for the trouble you had trying to reach our Call Center. Your message is important to us and we have sent you a private message in response.
I leave a message to give me a call through their FB message page. Their response time is outstanding with a very helpful, friendly NYSR system representative.
Thank you for your feedback.
I worked full time at a VA Medical Center for over 9 years. Can the VA time be credited towards NYSLRS retirement (I am not a veteran). Thank you
Members can purchase credit for up to three years of certain military service, but civilian employment with a federal agency cannot be credited toward your NYSLRS pension.
Trying to find out about the cost of purchasing military time. I have filled out the paperwork and it states my account is on hold. I was told this is only open for 30 days and I want to make sure I don’t miss the open window this time. Thankyou for your help.
Unfortunately, the NYSLRS Social Media Team does not have access to your personal account information.
For help with purchase of military time, please call our customer service representatives at 1-866-805-0990 (or 518-474-7736 in the Albany, NY area), press 2, then follow the prompts. You can also email our customer service representatives using our secure email form. Filling out the secure form allows them to safely contact you about your personal account information.
